The Castle of Cerveny Ujezd |
 |
 |
This private building has been named after the village, the area of which the Castle of Červený Újezd
is located in. This spectacular building was build in the course of the years of 2001 to 2002 with intent
to create a historicist object by using our present style coming out of the traditional handicraft and
craftsmanship but on the other hand, meeting the requirements of the present.
There is also a museum on the castle premises, where you can see originals and replicas of typical
hand tools, agricultural implements and other facilities of the Bohemian countryside, going back to
the last century and even the century before last. All this has been supplemented with rustic
hand-decorated period furniture, workrooms showing the environment of traditional crafts, the knight's
hall, a tavern offering old Bohemian food and drinks, and some other antiquities. The new interiors
have been made by local craftsmen.
So, if you like indulging in dreams of history and would like to enjoy really good food and drink, do
come to see for yourselves whether we have succeeded in our effort.
The castle is open for visitors all the year round (provided there are no reservations made).
